This one’s from 1988.
I guess in Japan people like to listen to soundtracks to Game Boy games on cd. Sometimes I think they’re much cooler in Japan.
It sure seems like back then they were trying to advertise the monsters in Zelda more than anything else. I remember all those old commercials where people would be saying all their weird names. Today the monsters are background scenery when they even make the merchandise at all. It’s nothing but triforce belt buckles and shield wallets now.
I don’t know much about this one, but it does have a cool early sticker of Wario. By this time the Mario universe was starting to expand and there weren’t 50 stickers in every set devoted to Spiny Eggs and Bullet Bills.
This was apparently a contest prize. I don’t know that much about Earthbound besides that it’s expensive and everybody loves it, so I have no idea who this character is.
It seems like the old Game Packs stickers are still quite common, but the tattoos are hard to find. I’ve been looking for pictures of the actual tattoos, but I’ve only been able to find advertising pictures. It looks like these tattoos had characters from early NES games and tons of obscure Mario villains. I’ll get a full picture of the box someday, but here’s what the individual packs looked like.
